Former Echo editor launches university's latest media training course

Former South Wales Echo and Wrexham Evening Leader editor Richard Williams is launching a new media training course at the Cardiff School of Journalism targeted at professionals and organisations.

The course details practical methods of reaching an audience through effective media management and strategy.

Richard is one of Wales's most experienced senior journalists and has also worked at the Daily Post, Wales on Sunday, Daily Mail, The People and on behalf of various websites and magazines.

He said: "This is a chance to get the inside track on how to work the media and to get your message across effectively. We know what it takes to make the news and get the very best value out of the media ... with tips from the other side of the fence."

Course co-ordinator David English said: "This builds upon our range of media relations courses for businesses, organisations and individuals. Getting your message across in the right way and to the right audience is often a tricky task, this aims to tackle that issue head-on.”

All courses can be presented in English or Welsh and tailored to ensure that those taking them up can achieve the best possible value from the expertise on offer.
