Students hit by crime

Student crime is an area which is rife, produces real statistics and is often overlooked by the media.

Every year one third of students are victims of crime with burglary, robbery and theft the most common crimes.

They are young, with less crime prevention awareness, own high value property and live in multi-occupation housing which is probably less secure.

All factors which can add up to them becoming victims.

There is a useful website with facts and figures, links and contacts, at www.crimereduction.gov.uk.
