Andy Hart had been with the DMGT group for the past six years, latterly as managing director of Associated Northcliffe Digital.

AND works closely with the newspaper divisions of Associated Newspapers and Northcliffe Media to develop their online portals. Its portfolio also includes the recruitment platform Jobsite, award-winning environmental awareness site Big Green Switch, and memorials site Lasting Tribute.

A statement from Associated Newspapers this morning said that Mr Hart had left the company with immediate effect as a result of forthcoming organisational changes.

The statement read: "Andy has been with the group six years and during this time has spearheaded the acquisition and development of a portfolio of digital and online businesses regarded by many as the best in the industry.

"As AND prepares itself for the next phase of growth, focusing on jobs, property and cars and including further expansion into international markets, the company will be making some organisational changes, as a result of which Andy and the company have mutually agreed to part company."

Kevin Beatty, group managing director of Associated Newspapers Limited said: "Andy should be given recognition for having helped assemble a very strong, robust set of dynamic businesses which will help underpin the company's future growth plans.

"We would like to wish him well in his future endeavours."
