Celebrity journalist Coleen snubs newspaper's work experience offer

The Crewe Chronicle has suffered rejection after celebrity 'journalist' Coleen McLoughlin declined its kind offer of paid work experience.

Wayne Rooney's girlfriend recently caused a stir when she put her occupation as journalist when submitting her wedding banns at Crewe Register Office.

Sadly for the Trinity Mirror weekly the 22-year-old, who reportedly earns £100,000 a year for her column in Closer magazine, said she was too busy preparing her June wedding.

Chronicle news editor Antonia Merola said: "We had to go through her agent – she said thanks for the offer but was really busy with the wedding.

"He's given us some great stories since so it was worthwhile in that sense – it's just a shame about Coleen."

Bless her. Is she in the NUJ?

If I'd been offered that opportunity, I would have bitten their hand off and would probably have severed the rest of their arm from the elbow downwards.
